Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Aids Roswell SWAT In Hostage Situation

Roswell police have arrested Tyler Alexander Grogan for aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

The Roswell Police Department now have a suspect in custody after being called to the scene of a home invasion and hostage situation at the Aspen Pointe Apartment complex last night, May 2.

A third party called police at 10:22 p.m. last night when suspect, Tyler Alexander Grogan, 20,  allegedly broke into an apartment and took a female hostage. When police arrived Grogan is said to have fired shots at the officers, according to a statement released by the department. 

After the hostage escaped unharmed early this morning, local police entered the apartment, with the assistance of the Alpharetta Police Department S.W.A.T. team, and took Grogan into custody without further incident.

Milton Police Department and Forsyth County Sheriff's Office also assisted Roswell in the situation.

"Roswell requested mutual aid from Forsyth County and we sent our S.W.A.T. commander and several S.W.A.T. members down to Roswell, and after we arrived on the scene, it's my understanding the individual surrendered," said Capt. Tim House with the Sheriff's Office.
