Georgia Man Dies After Heart Attack, Crash in Forsyth County

A 51-year-old man from Alto, Ga. suffers apparent heart attack and crashes into bridge.

A Georgia man died Friday after suffering an apparent heart attack and crashing his vehicle into a bridge that joins Forsyth and Hall counties, authorities said.

Ralph Phillip Jones, 51, of Walnut Drive in Alto, Ga., was traveling west on Browns Bridge Road [Highway 369] entering Forsyth County in his 1999 Lincoln Navigator when he apparently suffered a heart attack. He then lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a bridge, according to Cpl. David Garrison of the .

Emergency responders transported Jones to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where he was pronounced dead around 11:21 a.m. The accident occurred at 10:12 a.m.

Cpl. Garrison said Jones was wearing his seat belt and drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The collision remains under investigation.
