As he continued his search in a grocery store parking lot off Canton Highway he spotted a man matching the description he had been given. However, the suspect also noticed Boddy and took off across the highway to a corner gas station. It was there that Boddy caught up with the suspect and took him into custody.

"This man was in fact one of the burglars and through statements he made, another suspect was located in the area," said Capt. Freeman. "Due to Deputy Sheriff Boddy’s continued area check and patience, he was able to apprehend a convicted felon who had just committed a burglary without using any use of force or endangering any citizens."

For the second time this year, Cpl. Brandon Wiley has been selected as Deputy of the Month. Before transferring to the North Precinct, he was selected as .

According to Capt. Mark Flowers, North Precinct Commander, Cpl. Wiley was selected because of his involvement during a call regarding an aggravated assault at a local residence. It was Wiley's people skills that prevented the stressful situation from escalating.

This was not the first time deputies had responded to this home. It appears one resident suffers from some mental impairment and on this particular call, was the person who had assaulted his sister, explained Capt. Flowers.

“The resident had previously, during another incident, assaulted a utility worker," said Flowers. "When Cpl. Wiley arrived at the residence, the man was highly agitated, but thanks to Cpl. Wiley’s excellent people skills, he was able to calm the man down. Cpl. Wiley established a rapport with the man and eventually he admitted to all of his crimes."

Wiley, who recently was promoted to Corporal and transferred to the North Precinct, has made an “invaluable contribution to the North Precinct by upholding the highest standards," said Flowers. "You are an inspiration to your peers as well as your supervisors."

Cpl. Wiley has been employed with the FCSO since March 2005 and is currently assigned to “A” Watch at the North Precinct, Uniform Patrol Division.

During the year, each Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Precinct recognizes a Deputy of the Month. At the end of the year, a Deputy of the Year is selected from the 12 monthly award winners.
