iPhone Shows “Pill King” In Action

Burglary At Pier 29

August 15. deputies from the North Zone responded to a second burglary call from Pier 29 on Browns Bridge Road. The first call came in on August 14, and deputies learned the alarm had been activated at three points within the restaurant; the storage room, the bar and side door.

Deputies met with the owners who told them apparently someone had climbed onto the roof and forced their way in through a vent, gaining entry into the attic and into the storage room where final entry was made through the drop ceiling.

Further investigation found a red ladder propped up against the back of the building closest to a wooded area along with evidence that a safe had been moved from its normal place but had not been entered.

On August 15 deputies returned to find entry had been made through the same hole made the day before. This time the perpetrator was able to remove the safe which contained an employee payroll check, three separate bags containing $1,600 and several signed blank checks.

He made his getaway through the west-side door while breaking the wooden gate to fully exit the building. Video surveillance shows a thin white male carrying the safe through the restaurant wearing cargo shorts, a white shirt and a white cloth on his head.

Employees have viewed the tape and have given the investigators their findings. He is believed to be a regular customer.

Remodeled Home Vandalized

August 14. A homeowner at Colonial Club Estates reported his remodeled home had been vandalized. He estimated damages to be approximately $50,000.

The owner noticed the damage when he began to move his family into the home that he had been working on for more two weeks. When he left the home the evening before, everything was intact.

He discovered water was running from behind the refrigerator which had several puncture holes on the front and side. The ice and water panels had also been removed and thrown on the floor.

Other items in the home damaged included the dishwasher, the air conditioner control unit, light fixtures, decorative cupboard glass. Screens on the back porch were all cut, vulgar language carved into the wall, air return vents bent and suitcases had been rummaged through.

Autos Entered At Billy Howell Collision Center

August 12. It was reported that 10 vehicles were entered at . Three of the vehicles were owned by employees while the others were customer cars in for repairs.

Items known at this time to have been stolen include a flat screen TV, a battery, an orange and black duffle bag, four pair of sunglasses, three compact discs, two Apple iPods, a Kershaw pocket knife and a DVD player. An investigation is underway.

August 12. A South Zone deputy saw a vehicle cross over the fog line several times and that the vehicle was missing a tail light. After the stopping the vehicle, the deputy smelled a strong oder of marijuana coming from inside. The 23-year-old male driver who was very nervous and had bloodshot eyes along with his 21-year-old female passenger, who was very talkative.

The deputy called for backup to assist in the stop. The second deputy to arrive noticed the passenger had taken an unlabeled pill bottle from her purse and placed it inside her bra. She also admitted to concealing marijuana inside her bra in a sock. She was then handcuffed.

Discussions with the man led to a search of the vehicle after the driver admitted they had been smoking weed. Inside the vehicle deputies found a black zip-up bag containing folded money and smaller amounts of marijuana inside the female’s purse.

The Narcotics Unit was dispatched to the scene. They found multiple cell phones in the car which showed pictures of large amounts of marijuana. They also discovered a video of the driver wearing a robe and head dress dancing around holding marijuana buds and pulling pills out of an unlabeled bottle singing something about being “the pill king.”

The admitted “pill king” was arrested and charged with six felony counts of Possession of Synthetic Narcotics, two counts of Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Maintain Lane, No Tail Light and Driving without Valid Driver’s License. The female was also charged with three felony counts of Possession of Synthetic Narcotics and two counts of Possession of Marijuana.

Kohl’s Reports Shoplifter

August 10. A call was placed to dispatch of the South Zone to report a shoplifting charge. A loss prevention employee of on Peachtree Parkway reported he had video surveillance that showed a white female had placed at least 104 pieces of jewelry in a cart and had left the store without paying for the items.

Reckless Driving Leads To Arrest

August 10. Two deputies noticed a motorcycle following unsafely within two feet of other vehicles. They also observed the motorcycle rider abruptly making a left U-turn without any signals at the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Majors Road causing the vehicle behind to run off the shoulder of the road.

The driver began to accelerate at a high rate of speed while the deputies followed behind him at 60 mph on Majors Road, with their emergency equipment sounding. The driver continued looking back over his shoulder for some distance before finally pulling over.

The driver was ordered to get off the motorcycle and shut the engine off, but he failed to comply. A deputy then grabbed his wrist while pushing down the kick stand, forcing him off the motorcycle and then handcuffing him.

His driver’s license was not a motorcycle permit and returned a felony warrant out of Cobb County for Dangerous Drugs. A search of the motorcycle's tank returned suspected methamphetamine.

The 31-year-old male will face charges of Reckless Driving, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officers, Driving on Wrong Class of License, Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act and Hold for Other Jurisdiction.
