Several Vehicles Stolen in Forsyth County

Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Oct. 31, while on patrol inside Bridgetowne Subdivision, a deputy noticed a passenger car parked sideways beside a dumpster with its lights off and a man standing outside the car behind the Coal Mountain Shops on Browns Bridge Road.

As the deputy approached the vehicle the driver walked at a fast pace towards his car and started to drive away. The deputy motioned for the driver to pull over. As he questioned the driver the deputy could smell the scent of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. The man stated he was just throwing something away in the dumpster.

With the drivers approval the vehicle was searched and inside the trunk they located a red cloth bag containing two large bags of marijuana, a grinder, a digital scale, clear baggies and a glass pipe. The 19-year-old Hispanic man was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute, a felony and possession of drug related items/narcotic equipment.

Stolen Vehicles

Oct. 28-29, three vehicles were reported stolen. A 1996 black Toyota Tacoma, with Florida Tag #GJZ9B was parked in the owner’s driveway on Wendlebury Court in Whittington Subdivision. When he came out to leave his house he noticed it was gone. Inside the vehicle were his birth certificate, a check book and other miscellaneous paper work.

A red Toyota Corolla with a drive out tag was reported stolen from Maple Valley Drive in Hutchinson Pointe Subdivision. The vehicle also had a Garmin GPS unit stolen. Approximate value of the theft was $16,200.

The third vehicle, a 1989 red Toyota Celica had broken down at the intersection of Jot-Em-Down Road and Jett Road. The owner noticed that the placed a tag on the vehicle for it to be towed. The owner left to get help with getting the car off the roadway, but when she returned the car was gone. There is no record of the vehicle being towed.

Car Windows Busted, Purses Stolen

Oct. 28, at least six reports were made of car break-ins being entered. their car windows had been busted and their purses were missing containing credit cards, cash, make-up, driver’s license and checks.

Another victim reported that while she was at James Creek Tennis Club her passenger window was broken and her Louis Vuitton purse was taken containing credit cards, sunglasses and her driver’s license. The tennis center has video footage of a black man in a dark colored van and a white colored Dodge Stratus or Intrepid involved in the crime. The video shows the suspect busting the window and grabbing the purse in less than ten seconds.

Two women, while picking up their children at the on Bethelview Road, were also victims of vehicles being broken into. One car had its passenger window broken and her purse was stolen, while the other vehicle was left running in the parking lot and was unlocked.

Robbed at Gun Point – Wedding Rings Stolen

Oct. 26, while dropping off her child at Northwinds Gymnastic Center on Industrial Court, . The man demanded her purse, which she was unable to give, so he demanded her wedding rings instead. The wedding ring was a two-carat oval shaped solitaire with small diamonds on each side with a matching band.

The suspect is a black man, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slight build. At the time of the crime he was wearing a black shirt with a grey hoodie. Deputies canvassed the area along with a K-9 but were unable to find the suspect who left on foot.

Fire

As reported by Capt. Jason Shivers of the , there were 213 incident calls for the week of Oct. 24–31. The fire department was dispatched to one chimney fire, two structure fires, one vehicle fire, four brush fires, 147 medical emergencies, 12 cancelled in route calls, three authorized burning calls, four smoke scares and 14 false alarms.
