Man in Phone Store Says He'll Call Police If Not Helped in 5 Minutes

Cumming police were called and the man, who was reportedly cursing and yelling, was asked to leave and not return.

A Gainesville man told an employee of an apparently busy Cumming phone store that he would call the police if he was not helped in 5 minutes.

Cumming Police Department officers were called to the Verizon shop, but things didn't go his way, according to the police report.

The employee about 1:30 p.m. the day after Christmas called 911 to report a man in the store was cursing and yelling and refused to adhere to reservation protocol or wait in line.

James Michael Dickerson, 36, of Settlers Lane, wanted to return a tablet Dec. 26, but "started to get impatient and started yelling at (an employee)," according to the police report.

The worker said she would not be subjected to the alleged yelling and cursing and an assistant manager asked Dickerson not to raise his voice nor cuss.

Shortly after, the employee called police to have Dickerson escorted out of the store.

Dickerson "was compliant with (police) and said that he wanted to return the tablet," an officer wrote in the report. "He said that he was irritated and did curse out the assistant manager."

He was issued a criminal trespass warning and told if he returned to the 876 Buford Highway store in Cumming, he would be arrested. Dickerson then left the premises.
