Man Recovering After Being Shot Multiple Times, Suspect Arrested

The suspect, who lives in Cumming, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a gun.

A 28-year-old man who was shot multiple times early Sunday morning in south Forsyth County is expected to recover, according to authorities.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. in the Twin Lakes RV Park located at 3300 Shore Drive, off Highway 9 in Cumming. When deputies arrived on the scene they heard a woman screaming and found a man lying on the ground between two mobile homes with multiple gunshot wounds.

That man, Aubrey Zander, was taken to North Fulton Hospital in critical condition but is now doing better.

"He is in stable condition after surgery, he's expected to recover," said Rick Doyle, director of operations, with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. "He suffered two gunshot wounds, one to the chest and one to the left shoulder area with a 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol."

Doyle told Cumming Patch the verbal dispute began over loud music coming from a car, and then an altercation allegedly occurred.

The suspected shooter, James Adams Dunleavy, 26, who lives in the mobile home, was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a gun and is being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center.

"He's currently awaiting his bond hearing," Doyle said. "He hasn't been in front of the judge yet at this time

The shooting remains under investigation.
