Man Reportedly Charged With BUI in Lake Lanier Accident

A man was injured on Sunday in a boating accident on Lake Lanier.

A man from nearby Buford has been charged with Boating Under the Influence after an injury accident Sunday evening (July 28)Β on Lake Lanier.

Andrew Ross Lockey of Buford, 37, the driver of a boat that was pulling a tube on Shoal Creek, is facing BUI and reckless operation charges, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The tube had two people in it. The boat pulling the tube reportedly made a left turn, and slung the tube into another boat, which was reportedly sitting still.

A man in the tube reportedly complained of chest and leg injuries. He eventually was transported to Gwinnett Medical in Lawrenceville.
