Motorcycle Accident Kills Man in North Forsyth

A Harley Low Rider collides with a Trailblazer killing a man from Dahlonega.

A Dahlonega man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 53 near the Forsyth-Hall County line, authorities said.

Sidney Paul Agent Jr., 45, was riding his 1978 Harley Low Rider motorcycle and traveling westbound on the highway when a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Jimmy Darrell Barnett Jr., 41, of Murrayville, Ga., made a left-hand turn into the path of the motorcycle.

"Agent was unable to avoid the collision and struck the side of the Trailblazer," said Investigator Ron Tomblin of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. "He was ejected from the motorcycle and into the side of the Trailblazer."

Barnett was not injured in the wreck, but his passenger, Melody Cowart, 39, of Dahlonega, did suffer minor injuries and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Tomblin said it does not appear that alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the collision, but charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
