An early morning crash on Old Norcross Rd. at Hillandale Rd. left two people dead.

Sgt. Chris Ralston of the Lawrenceville Police Department said on the scene that the driver of a black Volvo was headed eastbound on the road at about 5am. For some unknown reason, the car crossed the median in front of and struck a black Hyundai head on. Both drivers were killed on impact.

The identities of the drivers have not been released, however, in an email, LPD's Cpt. Greg Vaughn said the driver of the Volvo as a woman.

A 33-year-old man died Sunday evening in a one-vehicle wreck in north Forsyth County.

James Ryan Symmes, of Woodruff Trace in Cumming, was approaching the intersection of Hubert Martin Road and Poplar Woods Drive around 6:05 p.m. in his 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer when the accident happened, according to the .

Symmes crossed over into the southbound lane, went off the roadway and struck a large pine tree head-on in front of 4925 Hubert Martin Road.

Sgt. Chris Shelton said Symmes was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

On Sunday (June 17) afternoon a young Alpharetta woman shopping at the book store at was grabbed by a man who attempted to drag her from the store.

According to a Gwinnett Police report, the unidentified 20-year-old woman was in the magazine section of the store around 5 p.m. when a man described as "middle eastern looking" grabbed her by the arm saying, "You're the one, come with me."

The woman began yelling for help and witnesses intervened and pushed the suspect away. The man then left driving a silver BMW with an Indiana license plate.
