When deputies arrived onto the scene, they discovered a 60-year-old male and his 54-year-old wife were both dead from gunshot wounds.

The initial call to 911 was placed by a neighbor, who went to check on the couple at their home at the request of a family member, but found it open, according to a press release.

The initial investigation has determined the issue is "domestic related and appears to be a murder-suicide," authorities said in the release.

The identities of both the man and woman are being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin and the case remains under investigation by the sheriff office's Criminal Investigations Unit.
