One Man Dies, Pair Suffers Injuries in Two Accidents

Two accidents in Forsyth on Monday claimed the life of one man while another wreck injured two people.

Two accidents in Forsyth County on Monday took the life of one man and seriously injured two others. 

Cumming resident Jeffrey Noda, 53, died from injuries he sustained in an accident at the intersection of Chattahoochee Road and Shady Grove Road around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Noda was driving in his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado on Chattahoochee Road and made a left turn onto Shady Grove into the path of a Forth L9000 dump truck driven by Cumming resident Joel Edmondson.

Noda died of injuries at Grady Health System in Atlanta after he was transported from the scene via helicopter.

Both were wearing their seatbelts and Edmondson was treated for minor injuries. The Sheriff's Office does not plan to file charges in the case.

Another accident occurring in the same time frame resulted in two being transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. 

Dewey Wyatt, 67, of Jasper was driving northbound on Bethelview Road in a 1994 Chevrolet S10 and had to stop for traffic. However, Cumming resident Shaun Kuhn, 33, was driving behind Wyatt and failed to stop.

His vehicle hit Wyatt's truck, and Kuhn's vehicle continued on in the southbound lane of Bethleview Road and struck a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice driven by Justin Westmoreland, 22 of Cumming. 

Westmoreland was transported to Atlanta Medical Center and his passenger, Jasper resident Kayla Summers was taken to North Fulton Hospital. Both remain at the hospital in stable condition. 

Kuhn, Wyatt and a passenger in Wyatt’s vehicle were all treated for injuries and released at the scene.

All drivers and occupants were wearing their seatbelts. Kuhn was charged with failure ot maintain lane and following too closely. Additional charges are possible, the sheriff's office said.
