Owner of Local Downtown Business Assaulted

The owner of a local business located on Dahlonega Highway in Cumming was allegedly assaulted Wednesday afternoon by one or more intruders.

Authorities are investigating what appears to be an assault on the owner of Horizon Saftey Group located at 332 Dahlonega Highway in Cumming.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

"Someone came in and pushed him down from behind and I guess he hit his head and when he woke up they were gone," said Sgt. Bryan Zimbardi with the .

Zimbardi said the wife found her husband on the floor and that nothing from the business was missing.

It is unknown at this time if there was one or more intruders.

The man, whose name has not been released, was treated and taken to with minor, non-traumatic injuries, according to Capt. Jason Shivers of the Forsyth County Fire Department.

Dahlonega Highway was down to one lane very briefly while emergency vehicles were in place.

An investigation is underway.
