Three people have been arrested and charged in connection to the child molestation of a runaway juvenile.

Adairsville residents Derick Clayton Bryant, 25, and Heather Nicole Haygood, 19, along with Roy Hubert Collum Jr, 48, of Calhoun face various charges in connection to the incident, which occurred after she ran away last week.

According to a press release from the Adairsville Police Department, officers responded around noon on June 21 to a call to recover a runaway juvenile at Mapco Express, located at 6434 Joe Frank Harris Parkway.

Officers arrived onto the scene and found the child in the company of Bryant, Haygood and Collum.

After briefly talking with the child, officers learned she'd been brought by the three from Villa Rica to Adairsville the previous day. The child also disclosed she'd been "subjected to indecent sexual acts by Haygood and Bryant while at their Adairsville residence," the agency said in a press release.

Detectives interviewed the three adults, and learned both Haygood and Bryant "had agreed to assist the runaway abscond from Villa Rica in exchange for sexual favors," the press release states.

"Once they returned to Adairsville, Haygood provided suspected marijuana and Trazadone to the child," the agency said. "After which, Bryant and Haygood then performed immoral acts to and in the presence of the child."

Bryant is charged with two counts of child molestation, two counts of sexual battery on a child, enticing a child for indecent purposes, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects. Collum is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

For her part, Haygood also faces two counts of child molestation, sexual battery on a child, enticing a child for indecent purposes, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, distribution of a dangerous drug and possession of drug-related object.

The child was treated and reunited with her parents. All three suspects were arrested and remain behind bars at the Bartow County Jail.
