Public's Help Needed in Murder Case

The murder of a high school student last August near Lake Lanier remains unsolved.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and nearby Hall County Sheriff’s Office have renewed their request for the public assistance in the Hannah Truelove murder investigation, according to a press release sent out on Friday.

Truelove, a Gainesville High School student, was found murdered behind Lake Lanier Club Apartments, where she lived with her mother, on Aug. 24, 2012.

Authorities report that a resident discovered her body in a heavily wooded area between the apartment complex and Lake Lanier. She had been stabbed multiple times.

In addition to any information available, investigators are still specifically looking for a late 1990’s to early 2000’s four‐door passenger car (possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge product) that may have been in the area of the Lake Lanier Club Apartments during the evening hours of Aug. 23, 2012.

The car is light silver in color, with substantial front-end damage and a driver’s door that is either white or a lighter shade of silver. Investigators believe the occupants of the vehicle may have important information that will aid the investigation.

Anyone with any information about the case or information regarding this vehicle is asked to call he Hall County CID tip line at 770‐503‐3232, or the GBI tip line at 800‐597‐8477. Tips may also by submitted online.

This case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
