Robbery Suspect Last Seen in Forsyth Remains at Large

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a convenience store on Windward Parkway.

The public is being enlisted to help the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety to capture a suspect wanted in the robbery of a BP convenience store on Windward Parkway.

Investigators are looking for Kinneth Battle, who is described as African-American, 5'10, 200 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes and has numerous tattoos on arms, legs and chest.

At around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, Alpharetta 911 received a call from a store clerk at BP at 5005 Windward Parkway, and told dispatchers a robbery had taken place at the store.

The investigation determined two men entered the store. One suspect jumped the counter and "snatched the cash register drawer," the agency said in a news release.

Both men left the store and fled the scene in a Jeep parked on the side of the building, which authorities believed was occupied by wanted suspect Battle.

The store clerk was able to provide the license plate number for the Jeep, and the direction it traveled when it left the premises.

Alpharetta issued an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies. It was later determined the suspects drove to a home in Forsyth County, and pulled into the residence's garage.

As deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office pulled up to the home, one of the suspects, armed with a weapon, allegedly fled the house out the back door.

Authorities believe the weapon could be an AK-47, AR-15 rifle or a similar firearm.

Battle fled into a wooded area, and another suspect, Fredrequis Cobbs, was found hiding in the back floorboard area of the Jeep and was arrested.

The North Fulton SWAT team was activated and responded to assist the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. A large SWAT search operation took place in southern Forsyth County to no avail.

Battle remains at large, and there's no indication he is still in Forsyth County. Battle is "well known" to law enforcement agencies, specifically the Fulton County justice system, Alpharetta police said in its news release.

“The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is grateful for the valuable assistance given by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office," said Alpahretta Public Safety Director Gary George. "Their efforts led to a quick identification of the robbery suspect and helped our investigation immediately.”

If anyone has contact with Battle, who is considered armed and dangerous, call 911 immediately and give authorities the information. If anyone has information leading to his location, you may anonymously call the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s tip line at (678) 297-6307.
