APRIL 17, a hit and run occurred at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Ronald Reagan Blvd. Deputies were dispatched and a lookout was given for a white SUV with damage to the passenger side.

The deputies searched the area of the Avenue and located a white Pontiac Torrent that was parked with a wheel broken, flat tire and damage to the rear passenger side.

After speaking with the female driver and smelling the odor of alcohol, she was arrested and charged with DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Open Container and Failure to Yield when turning left.

AGGRESSIVE MALE HAD TO BE TASERED

APRIL 15, dispatch advised deputies in the vicinity of Hwy. 306 and Hwy. 369 that a green Taurus with several possible underage young men and women had attempted to buy alcoholic beverages from two gas stations with possible fake ID’s. A deputy spotted the vehicle, called for backup and initiated the traffic stop. The front seat passenger, a 25-year-old male, was trying to explain what had happened while using profanity. The officer instructed the male to stop since there was a toddler in the car.

The deputy asked the passenger to step out of the vehicle at which time he stated he had a knife on him. The suspect pulled out the concealed knife from its sheath showing a 15-inch knife with four finger holes. He was instructed to throw the knife on the ground several times to which he refused. The deputy pulled his service weapon and demanded the male to again throw the weapon down, at which time he complied and was then handcuffed and put in the patrol car for everyone’s safety.

The male admitted to having his own prescriptions of Xanax and Loritabs in his possession and that he was on felony probation for Cocaine possession. He told the deputies that they could search his vehicle. The deputies found several text messages on the phone the wife claimed were sent by her, indicating sales of both drugs through several messages sent and received.

After the male was told that he was being arrested for being in possession of a concealed weapon while on probation, the 25-year-old became agitated and began to move around in the patrol vehicle requesting to see his wife and daughter.

One of the deputies opened the door slightly to tell him to calm down and he would allow this, but the male then put his foot against the door, kicked the deputy and lunged toward him. At this point four deputies wrestled the offender to the ground. He was still thrashing around and refusing to get up. This time they put ankle restraints on him and all the deputies picked him up and placed him once again in the patrol car.

On the way to the jail the male continued to be agitated and tell deputies they would have to throw him on the concrete in order to get him out of the patrol car. When they arrived at the jail they removed his handcuffs and legs restraints.

When he was uncuffed he started screaming and lunged forward towards several deputies. He was forced to the ground and began hitting his head on the concrete trying to harm himself. After being instructed to stop and refusing to do so, a deputy had to use his taser device and put the male in a restraint chair.

His charges at this point are three felony counts of Obstruction of Law Enforcement and one felony count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
