The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who failed to register as a sex offender.

Michael David Westbrook, 48, is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall; he weighs 135 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo on his back and wears glasses.

He was convicted on Nov. 3, 1997 for kidnapping, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

His last known registered address was 7905 Holyoke Road, Cumming, GA 30040.

"Westbrook moved to Forsyth County and when we did a check to see if he was living where he said he was living, we discovered he had taken off without notifying us," said Deputy Sheriff Doug Rainwater of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. "Westbrook was last seen in a 2002 Audi A4 with a tag of PRG7377."

Anyone with information about Westbrook's whereabouts is urged to call the FCSO Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 770-888-7308.

The GBI reports that any individual who is required to register as a sex offender and fails to do so, “shall be guilty of a felony and shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than 30 years; provided, however, that upon the conviction of the second offense under this subsection, the defendant shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than five nor more than 30 years.”
