The victim, who was "beat up" by the suspects during the alleged robbery, was later arrested by Sandy Springs Police for an outstanding warrant for burglary.

A couple was arrested on Halloween following an armed robbery and assault during a home invasion at 2550 Barbara Lane near Nuckolls Road in Cumming.

Investigator Jason Soles of the said the suspects, Sean M. Kinney, 27, and Jodie Marie Davis, 22, both of 1430 Lakeside Trail in Cumming, broke into the home of David L. Geary, 28, on Halloween around 1:03 a.m.

The suspects allegedly busted in the back door of Geary's home; he was asleep on the couch at the time. They allegedly beat up Geary while trying to get him to tell them where money was hidden. After an hour, Geary revealed to Kinney and Davis where the money was located, according to Soles.

"We ran a history on him as a precaution, because this thing didn't add up correctly," Moss said.

Geary had an outstanding warrant from a Sept. 28 burglary at 5820 Greenbrier Road in south Sandy Springs.

Moss said as the investigation progressed Halloween morning it was discovered that Geary knew the suspects.

"This was a retaliation [the robbery and assault] for an earlier theft that had occurred," said Moss. "These two perpetrators went in there and knew he had money. They were going to rip him off."

Moss said the suspects were located around 5 p.m. on Monday near Tucker in DeKalb County at a business and that the two were planning to leave the area.

Authorities found a large quantity of prescription drugs and marijuana with the couple, but it is not believed the drugs were taken from Geary's home.

“We also recovered a considerable amount of cash from them,” said Moss.

Kinney and Davis were arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault and are both being held at the with no bond.
