Sheriff's Office Recognizes Deputies for Leadership and Detailed Work

Corporal Tyler Sexton and Deputy First Class David Abell have earned deputies of the month awards for September.

The and  precincts of the named Corporal Tyler Sexton and Deputy First Class David Abell their September 2011, Deputies of the Month.

Cpl. Sexton was instrumental in assisting investigators on the  store burglary that happened on Sept. 25. He helped in the identification of several suspects and a vehicle that was used in the burglary.

and about  have been returned. An estimated $2.6 to $2.8 million worth of merchandise and personal items were taken during the heist.

“If it had not been for Cpl. Sexton’s attention to detail and the networking of information, it is very possible no arrests would have taken place,” said South Precinct Commander Capt. Ron Freeman.

Cpl. Sexton has been employed with the FCSO since January 2008 and is currently assigned to “C” Watch, South Precinct, Uniform Patrol Division. He was also named  .

Deputy First Class Abell was selected because of his work ethics and inspiring attitude with fellow peers and supervisors.

“Your leadership skills and positive demeanor have gained you the respect of your peers and thus has made you an effective supervisor,” said North Precinct Commander Capt. Mark Flowers. "You have been a constant steady role model for current and newly-hired deputies.”

DFC Abell has been employed with the FCSO since January 2002 and is currently assigned to “D” Watch, North Precinct, Uniform Patrol Division.
