Sheriff's Office Hosting 4th Annual Community Safety Fair

Family-friendly fair at the Home Depot parking lot on Marketplace Boulevard featuring K9s, horses, moonwalk, free food, live entertainment and more.

Cumming families are invited to join the  for a fun interactive Community Safety Fair to help kickoff National Crime Prevention Awareness Month. The event is Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon in the .

While you're out running errands stop by with the kids and take part in a variety of fun and educational activities including a workshop where kids get to build a "fire safety boat." There will be child safety seat checks, hunter and boater safety tips, a moonwalk, K9s, horses from the county's Mounted Patrol Unit, product demos and giveaways.

The 4th annual event is an opportunity "to bring the community and the Sheriff's Office closer together by opening up and showing them some of the programs we have through this event," said Sgt. Allan Frampton, Crime Prevention and Crime Analysis Unit Supervisor with the FCSO.

Meet some of the deputies, firefighters, troopers, rangers, EMTs and paramedics who keep our community safe. Get up close and check out SWAT vehicles and equipment, firetrucks, patrol cars, ambulances and even a helicopter.

Admission is free along with complimentary food and live entertainment.
