South Forsyth Crash Leaves Woman Dead, Sends Four To Hospitals

One of the injured is the daughter of the deceased woman who is in critical condition.

A two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning in south Forsyth County claimed the life of a 43-year-old woman and critically injured her 11-year-old daughter, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Tracy Bieler of Suwanee was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter, who was a passenger in the front seat, was critically injured, reads the press release. The young girl was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite along with another 11-year-old girl, a family friend, who was seated in the backseat of the vehicle. This child received non-life threatening injuries to her face.

Deputy First Class Michael Nelson said Beiler was traveling southbound on Old Atlanta Road near the Estates of Old Atlanta subdivision in a 2002 Toyota Camry when she apparently lost control of the vehicle while she was going around a curve. Beiler's car traveled into the southbound lane and struck a 2012 Honda Odyssey that was traveling northbound.

DFC Nelson said in the release that the front end of the Honda impacted Beiler's Toyota on the passenger side.

The driver of the Honda, Mujtaba Syed, 40, of Cumming, was taken to North Fulton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old passenger in Syed's vehicle suffered a broken arm and was also taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

Weather conditions were a contributing factor in the fatal crash that occurred around 11 a.m., according to DFC Nelson. During that time the county was experiencing heavy rains and flooding.

The investigation into the collision is continuing.
