Speed Likely Factor in Head-On Collision in South Forsyth

At least three people were transported to a nearby hospital.

A head-on collision Sunday afternoon on Shiloh Road in south Forsyth County sent three people to the hospital, according to the .

One of the victims, William Frank Cash, III, 29, of Shiloh Creek Court in Cumming, remains in serious but stable condition at North Fulton Hospital.

Elizabeth Dickman, 49, of Ivey Springs Chase in Cumming, and one of her passengers, a 17-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to the same hospital where they were treated and released. Two other passengers, another 17, and 14-year-old, were seated in the backseat and were not injured.

Cash who was driving a 2011 Dodge Challenger and traveling east near the area of 4403 Shiloh Road at about 12:30 p.m., was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to Investigator Ron Tomblin,

Tomblin stated in a press release, that Cash was traveling too fast to negotiate the curve and crossed over into the west bound lane, striking Dickman, who was driving a 2007 Suzuki Gran Vitara, head-on.

Following the impact, Cash's vehicle left the roadway, went into a field, flipped over two and a half times before stopping on its passenger side about 150 feet from the roadway. Dickman tried to avoid the collision but was unable to, stated Tomblin.

Excessive speed was a factor in the collision and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, stated Tomblin.

Cash was alone in his vehicle.
