Teen Charged in Fatal Forsyth Collision

The teenager is facing two charges, including second degree vehicular homicide.

A 17-year-old has been charged with second degree vehicular homicide and failure to obey a traffic control device for his role in a crash that killed a 43-year-old woman on March 7, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Antonio Aguilera-Mora, 17, of Park Place in Cumming, was traveling southbound on Highway 9 in a 2004 Nissan Titan, while Lesia Elaine Bennett also of Cumming, was in a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer and heading eastbound on North Old Atlanta Road. When both vehicles reached the intersection they collided. The impact forced Bennett's vehicle into the front passenger side of a Forsyth County school bus that was stopped at the traffic light on Highway 9 preparing to make a left turn onto North Old Atlanta Road.

Bennett, who was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision, was transported to Northside Hospital-Forsyth where she was pronounced dead. Mora, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the same hospital where he was treated and released. The school bus driver was not injured and there were no students on board the bus.
