Thieves Apologize for Crime

Suspects Pass Counterfeit $100 Bills

Nov. 18, on Peachtree Parkway received counterfeit bills. A deputy from the responded to the scene and met with the Team Lead of Asset Protection for Target.

He told the deputy that the Cash Office Specialist had discovered at least three successful attempts were made purchasing merchandise and a fourth attempt was tried but failed since the cashier suspected the bill to be counterfeit and the suspect fled.

He went on to add that he would describe the bills as “washed five dollar bills reprinted with 100 dollar bills printer over." Video surveillance of the suspects is being viewed and the counterfeit bills are being held for the U.S. Secret Service.

Theft at Local Marina

Nov. 18, several boat owners reported thefts from their boats stored at on Keith Bridge Road. Four separate reports were taken involving theft of two Lowrance HDS-10 fish finders valued at $6000, one Mercruiser 5.0 EFI propeller and prop, one Johnson 120 horsepower outboard motor with stainless steel prop and one Mercruiser Alpha One stainless 21” pitch prop. It appears that the suspects entered along the wood line of the property. An investigation is underway.

HVAC Units Stolen

Nov. 17, a report came into the for theft. The property manager at 70 Technology Drive reported that five heating and air-conditioning units were stolen from the property, valued at approximately $20,000.

Theft from Parks and Recreation Department

Nov. 14, a deputy was dispatched to on Melody Mizer Lane. Apparently someone had entered the garage that houses equipment for the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department. The work shop garage door was off its tracks and was partially open. Miscellaneous hand tools along with a red Troybuilt generator, a Stihl edger and two Stihl weed eaters were stolen. Items were valued at approximately $1500.

Thieves Apologize for Crime

Nov. 14, BW Tavern on Atlanta Highway reported an ice bin stolen. The manager arrived at work to see two men in a black truck coming from the back of the building driving away with one of his commercial ice bins.

He began to follow the suspects until they finally pulled over. They apologized to him for the theft and said they would return the ice bin to the establishment. They returned but only gave the manager part of the ice bin. They drove off for the second time with the four metal legs to the ice bin.

The manager followed them again until he decided to return to the business. The legs were valued at $20.

Fire

A total of 214 incident calls were reported by Capt. Jason Shivers of the . During this week the county had five structure fires with no injuries. Other incident calls included one cooking fire, one chimney fire, one brush fire, 150 medical emergencies, three gas leaks, three downed power lines, one unauthorized burn call, one authorized burn call, 21 cancelled in route calls, three no incidents found, three smoke scares, 10 false alarms and one lightening strike.
