Thieves Identified Thanks to Social Media

Suspected credit card thieves were captured on camera and their photos posted on the Internet.

Two Forsyth County women suspected of stealing a credit card turned themselves in earlier this week after discovering their photos were posted on Facebook and they were wanted for the theft, according to authorities.

Khrista M. Simonds, 21, and Elaine F. Dishroom, 47, are accused of stealing a credit card on April 1 and making several fraudulent transactions at and CVS Pharmacy on Canton Highway the same day.

“Investigator Frank Karic obtained a video from CVS of the two female suspects who used the victim’s credit card, said. "We used the photos to create a lookout and to also post the photos of the suspects on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. In less than 12 hours after the posting, we had received multiple tips from the community and had identified the suspects.”
