Three Arrested In Smash and Go Burglaries

Two smash and go burglaries results in the arrest of three suspects early Thursday morning.

Three people have been arrested following two smash and grab burglaries early Thursday morning off Pilgrim Mill Road in North Forsyth, according to authorities.

Kristina Craig, 30, of Gainesville, Abdur Raashiyd York, 21, of Snellville and David Robinson, 20, of Atlanta were taken into custody after a traffic stop on GA 400 in Alpharetta.

The first burglary happened at the Country Cupboard convenience store on Pilgrim Mill and Antioch Road about 3:17 a.m. Deputies found one of the doors had been smashed and that the cash register had been ransacked.

Less than 15 minutes later deputies responded to a second incident at Daniel's Grocery on Pilgrim Mill and Holtzclaw Road. When deputies arrived at the second burglary they found one of the front doors had also been smashed. According to the incident report, drawers and cupboards behind the counter were open and the drawer from the register was on the floor.

While headed to the second location, a deputy noticed a tan sedan, driven by a woman, pass him by at Pilgrim Mill Road and Freedom Parkway. He notified the South Precinct to be on the look out of the car since it was the only one in the area shortly after the alarm went off.

The car, driven by a white female, was spotted on GA 400 and Winward Parkway and pulled over. During the traffic stop deputies were able to determine that the two black males matched the description of the two suspects caught on video surveillance at the first break-in. Deputies also did a search of the vehicle and found cigarettes, several rolled coins, a small crow bar, several pairs of gloves and various pieces of clothing.

All three were placed under arrest.

According to a spokesperson with the Forsyth County Detention Center, Craig posted bond on a $22,220 bail. York and Robinson remain in jail. All three have been charged with two counts of burglary.

Authorities also believe that York and Robinson may be affiliated with a gang.

"If so they may face other charges, but we haven't confirmed that yet and it hasn't been done yet," said Major Dan Jagoe with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff's Office. "We have our gang unit investigating that."

Craig is not believed to be associated with any gang.
