Toddler Run Over by Family Car in Forsyth

22-month old boy is in stable condition and is expected to recover.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, a 22-month old boy who was run over by the family car on Saturday afternoon is in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Investigators responded to a home on Claude Martin Drive in northeastern Forsyth County, where the boy was hit by a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by his father. The child had walked out of the garage and stood behind the Trailblazer as the vehicle was backing out of the garage. The child was stuck by the rear bumper and then ran over with the back tire.

The father and mother of the child picked him up from underneath the vehicle and drove him immediately to Forsyth County Fire Station 9, where firefighters called a helicopter. The child was then transported by Children’s Health Care Critical Care Helicopter to Egleston Hospital, where he was treated by the critical care team.

The case is being investigated by the Crash Investigations Unit and no charges are anticipated in this crash.
