Two-Alarm House Fire Injures Firefighter

A Forsyth County firefighter suffers minor injuries while battling fire that destroys home and kills three family dogs.

A two-alarm fire Wednesday morning injures a firefighter and destroys a home located at 3557 Pleasant Grove Road in northwest Cumming. According to Capt. Jason Shivers with the Forsyth County Fire Department, the fire occurred just after 8 a.m.

"Upon arrival the structure was fully involved," said Shivers. "It was noticed by a neighbor that saw smoke in the area and went to investigate and discovered this home on fire."

The homeowners were not in the house during the fire, but three family pets did perish in the blaze.
