Two Arrested In Marijuana Grow House Bust

This activity report is a selection of local incidents from April 18 – April 25.

STOLEN TRUCK RECOVERED

APRIL 25, a red Ford Ranger supposedly abandoned in the turn lane at Atlanta Highway and Hutchinson Road was discovered by a Forsyth County deputy. Another deputy arrived on scene and saw that a young male was handcuffed.

The deputy stated that the male claimed he had run out of gas and was in handcuffs because the tag came back as a stolen vehicle. The 19-year-old also had outstanding warrants in Forsyth and Dawson Counties. He was arrested and charged with Theft, Wanted Person Located and Failure to Appear.

SUNCRUISER DECK BOAT MISSING

APRIL 24, the received a call concerning theft of a 1997 Suncruiser deck boat that was stolen from a resident boat dock on Pilgrim Mill Way. It was described as having a Johnson out-board motor, beige in color with green trim, beige seats and green carpet. The hull number is GA6318FE.

HOME BURGLARY

APRIL 23, a deputy responded to a burglary call on Anderson Lake Drive. The cable across the driveway and poles were knocked down to gain access. It is reported that a Craftsman riding mower, a black projection TV, a white microwave, a white dishwasher, copper tubing and electrical wires were stolen.

THREE SEPARATE METHAMPHETAMINE ARRESTS

APRIL 21, three separate traffic stops lead the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office to make three arrests. Two 31-year-old males along with a 39-year-old male, who also had outstanding warrants, were taken to and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. Two of the males were also charged with Possession of Marijuana. All three were charged with Wanted Person Located. All are felony charges.

MARIJUANA GROW HOUSE SHUT DOWN

APRIL 18, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible grow house located on Keithwood Court in Cumming from the Johns Creek Police Department. They obtained a search warrant, and members of the narcotics unit, the south Soar team, and JCPD Narcotics unit served the warrant.

Two rooms of the residence had been converted into a grow operation with approximately 30 plants, some of which were five feet tall. They confiscated eight pounds of packaged marijuana, just under a pound of hash, nine vicodin pills along with many drug related items. A 2008 BMW 335i and $9714 in cash were also seized.

Arrested were Douglas Selembo, 18, and Stephen Selembo, 64. Both were charged with Trafficking Marijuana, Manufacture of Marijuana, and Possession of drug related objects.

UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION

APRIL 18, a deputy noticed a Honda CR-V coming off Sanders Road making a right hand turn onto State Route 20 at a high rate of speed and crossing over into the far left hand lane of traffic almost hitting a pick-up truck.

After the traffic stop was initiated the deputy questioned the driver, a 20-year-old female, and determined after field tests that her blood alcohol level was a .022.

The deputy also smelled alcohol on the two 18-year-old male passengers and they were arrested. All were charged with Underage Consumption. The driver was also charged with DUI and Failure to Yield Right-of-way.

FIRE

Incident calls reported from the Forsyth County Fire Departmentfor the week of April 18 – April 25 were about the same as the prior week with 215 calls. These calls consisted of three structure fires with no injuries, one vehicle fire, one brush fire, 144 medical emergencies, two gas leaks, three down power lines, three unauthorized burn calls, two smoke scares, two authorized controlled burn calls and 15 false alarms.
