Two Women Held At Gunpoint At McDonald's

TWO WOMEN HELD AT GUNPOINT AT MCDONALD'S

May 6, two women working the late shift at McDonald's on Peachtree Parkway were held at gun point. Deputies arrived to discover that while one of the employees was outside changing the signs, a male came out of the bushes and forced his way into the side entrance.

He took the female back to the kitchen area where another employee was working and demanded her to get on the floor while he held a gun to her head, and demanded money. He put both females inside the cooler. Both women remained in the cooler for several minutes before exiting to find the robber had left.

Authorities arrested three suspects including the alleged robber. Byron Hibbert, 30, of Grayson, Dimas Perez, 19, of Snellville and Joyce Spears, 26, of Monroe are charged with Armed Robbery and remain in custody at the Forsyth County Detention Center.

EMPLOYEE STEALS GAS

May 6, Jason Taylor of reported to the Sheriff’s Office that one of his employees had stolen one of his trailers. It was reported that the employee was supposed to take a load to Memphis, Tennessee and then return.

Mr. Taylor spoke with his employee, while he was in Memphis at a truck stop filling up with gas. The employee didn't suspect anything was wrong. A short time later the employee returned to the same truck stop to purchase an additional $629 in gas, at which time his card was declined. The 43-year-old male then fled the scene not paying for the gas purchase and leaving behind his driver’s license and charge card.

The Memphis Police have recovered the stolen trailer but were unable to locate the suspect at that time. Further investigations have led to a pattern where this employee has filled up with gas and then returned to fill up again. A total of approximately $2,700 in gas has been reported unauthorized by the company.

MALE STATES “I DON’T WORK, I SELL CRACK”

May 5, a deputy making a routine stop on a vehicle because the tag light was not working. The deputy observed that the driver and his passenger were extremely nervous about the stop and were slow to react to the deputy's blue lights.

With the odor of alcohol and conflicting stories by both parties the deputy decided to call a K-9 unit to the scene to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle. This resulted in a formal search of the vehicle in which they located several pieces of crack cocaine inside the center console, a crack pipe located inside a back pack and several empty bottles of Clonzapam.

The passenger, a 21-year-old male, told the deputies he had just swallowed a substantial amount of crack cocaine. He was then transported to for evaluation. While at the hospital he spit, cussed and threatened the nursing staff and doctors, stating that once he got of jail he would kill them with his pistol. He was then transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center.

While at the jail he was asked where he worked and he replied with “I don’t work, I sell crack.” The rowdy 21-year-old and the 26-year-old male driver were charged with two felony counts of Possession of Cocaine and No Tag Light.

ROBBERY AT NO LONGER BOUND AUTO SHOP

MAY 3, a deputy responded to a burglary call from No Longer Bound Auto Shop on Pine Grove Road. Workers in the shop reported that the back door to the shop had been pried open and that the pry bar was left on the ground.

Missing from the shop are a 3/8” drive socket set, a ¼” drive socket set, a full socket set including ratchets, reducers, a full set of extensions, a swivel attachment, a torx bit set, a hex bit set and other miscellaneous tools valued at $1,200.

LOSS PREVENTION EMPLOYEE ALMOST RAN OVER BY SHOPLIFTER

MAY 3, a deputy was dispatched to Kohl’s department store on Peachtree Parkway in reference to shoplifters. Two women had taken merchandise into the dressing area and after exiting, an employee noticed the tags were missing from several pairs of earrings and shirts.

One female walked out the door and got into a beige Toyota Camry. The second female also trying to leave was approached by the loss prevention employee who tried to convince her to come back inside. The female ignored him and got into the same vehicle.

The employee then approached the driver’s side window telling her that they had video of the theft and they should return to the store. The driver exited the vehicle but the passenger began to yell “let’s go," so she got back into the car.

The driver put the car in reverse and proceeded to drive away while her door was still open almost hitting the male employee and running into another car. Kohl's secured a partial license plate number of BV5 and video surveillance.  

DOBBS CREEK RECREATION CENTER GATE RAMMED

MAY 2, an officer with the responded to criminal damage to the property at Dobbs Creek Recreation Center. Apparently sometime after the basketball tournament had ended, someone rammed the gate with their vehicle leaving part of a Chrysler grill, possibly from a 300 class car. Damage total to replace the gate and supports are approximately $1,100.

FIRE

There were 223 responses from the for the week of May 2 – May 9. Incidents included two structure fires with no injuries, two brush fires, 148 medical emergencies, five gas leaks, two down power lines, three unauthorized burning calls, five no incidents found calls, four smoke scares and ten false alarms.
