Family asking for prayers.

Updated, Thursday, July 12, 11:30 a.m.:

The family of Kyle Glover, the youth who was injured in a collision Friday on Lake Lanier, has asked for prayers for the child, according to CNN.com.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," Glover's family said in a statement to CNN on Tuesday.

The youth's mother is Tameka Foster Raymond, the ex-wife of entertainment superstar Usher. His father is Ryan Glover, a former executive with Turner Broadcasting and now an executive with Bounce TV, a network that caters to African-Americans.

The Glover family has held vigil at the hospital since Friday. Usher visited Kyle early Saturday, but has not returned, according to the CNN reports.

A 15-year-old girl also was injured in the accident. Her condition has not been made public.

Jeffrey S. Hubbard, said to be a family friend, has been identified as the man who was driving a personal watercraft that ran into Glover and the girl Friday afternoon. The youths were in an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat. No charges have been filed in the case, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Usher, a Johns Creek resident, is reported to be very upset about the tragedy.

"Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He's known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened," read a report in US magazine.

Updated, Tuesday, July 10, 10:30 a.m.:

A "friend of the family" was piloting the personal watercraft that injured the stepson of superstar entertainer Usher last week on Lake Lanier, according to a media report.

MTV.com has reported that Jeffrey S. Hubbard was the operator of the personal watercraft that ran into Kyle Glover (aka Kyle Glover), 11, and a 15-year-old girl last week on the lake. Glover and the girl were life-flighted to Children's Hospital at Egleston in Atlanta after the accident.

According to the Department of Natural Resources incident report cited by MTV.com, Hubbard was operating the watercraft on Lake Lanier when he ran over two juveniles being towed on an inner tube by another boat at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Friday.

Glover reportedly has been declared brain dead by doctors, and the girl reportedly sustained a broken arm and a cut on the head.

Usher and Tameka Foster, Glover's mother, divorced in 2009. However, the entertainer, who lives in nearby Johns Creek, chartered a plane for her to be with her son after the incident. Usher and Foster both reportedly were at the hospital Saturday.

DNR officials have said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident.

The stepson of superstar entertainer Usher is reported brain dead after a recent collision on Lake Lanier, according to a media report.

The entertainment website TMZ.com reported that Kyle Glover, 11, has been declared brain dead by doctors, but no decision has been made whether to take him off life support.

Usher, a nearby Johns Creek resident, reportedly visited his stepson in the hospital in Atlanta on Saturday. Tameka Foster, Glover's mother and Usher's estranged wife, has not left the hospital since she got there. The entertainer chartered a plane for her to be with Glover after the accident.

Sunday, July 8, 11 a.m.:

The stepson of superstar entertainer and nearby Johns Creek resident Usher is in critical condition  on Friday afternoon, according to media reports.

Kyle Glover, 11, and a 15-year-old girl were being pulled in inner tubes by a boat when they were hit by a man piloting a jet ski. The children were life-flighted to Children's Healthcare at Egleston Hospital, according to 11alive.com. The entertainment website TMZ.com cited a source as saying Glover remains unresponsive and is in critical condition.

The accident happened on the south end of the lake near Van Pugh Park, according to reports.

A Department of Natural Resources spokesperson said it is too early to tell if any charges will be filed, and that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Glover is the son of Usher's estranged wife Tameka Foster. The entertainer reportedly chartered a plane for Foster to be by her son's side.

AJC.com reported that the DNR said the man on the personal watercraft and the children tubing were part of the same group on an outing at the lake.

This incident comes just three days after the of Buford, who were killed in a Lake Lanier boating collision in June. Also in June, in a Lanier accident involving a boat propeller.

Several of Usher's associates in the entertainment world have taken to social media for support.

Music mogul Russell Simmons said on Twitter, "Praying that Usher and Tameka's son is OK..."

This comes on the heels of an alleged stalker's arrest and hospitalization after showing up at Usher's Johns Creek home. Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw, 26, had previously received a warning to stay away from the star's home.
