Usher's Stepson Reported Brain Dead After Lanier Collision

The entertainer reportedly visited the Atlanta-area hospital Saturday.

The stepson of superstar entertainer Usher is reported brain dead after a recent collision on Lake Lanier, according to a media report.

The entertainment website TMZ.com reported that Kyle Glover, 11, has been declared brain dead by doctors, but no decision has been made whether to take him off life support.

Usher, a Johns Creek resident, reportedly visited his stepson in the hospital in Atlanta on Saturday. Tameka Foster, Glover's mother and Usher's estranged wife, has not left the hospital since she got there. The entertainer chartered a plane for her to be with Glover after the accident.

The collision was reported Friday. Department of Natural Resources officials said Glover and a 15-year-old girl were in an inner tube and being pulled by a boat when a jet ski struck them. The man piloting the personal watercraft reportedly was a part of the party with the youths.

Glover and the girl were life-flighted to Egleston Hospital after the incident Friday.

Fox5 Atlanta reported that two Department of Natural Resources rangers reportedly witnessed the event. They said the jet ski driver, a 38-year-old man, was with a large group of family and friends that included the children. The group had rented two jet skis and a pontoon boat for the day.

"It looks like they were trying to have a day on the lake and have a good time, but obviously something went wrong and two kids got run over," said Sgt. Mike Burgamy with the Department of Natural Resources.

Somehow the jet ski drove over the inner tube, which the children were in. The rangers and other witnesses assisted in rescuing the children.

"They saw the personal watercraft running around, saw the pontoon and tuber and the next thing they saw was the personal watercraft went right over the two kids on the tube," said Burgamy.

. Buford brothers Griffin and Jake Prince were killed when a boat rammed into the pontoon boat being piloted by the Princes' father.

Their funeral was July 3 in nearby Suwanee.
