The owner and one employee of a Cumming weight loss clinic remain imprisoned as the result of an investigation into alleged prescription drug fraud at the clinic, Forsyth County News reports.

Mary Wysong and Teresa Vickers have called the Forsyth County Detention Center home for the past week following their July 8 arrests. Vickers owns and operates Doctors Weight Loss on Meadow Lane. A third suspect, Dr. E. Walter Hood, turned himself in but bonded out the same day.

The trio are accused of prescription drug fraud scheme in which Dr. Hood would allegedly sign blank prescriptions that Wysong and Vickers would then fill out and distribute to clients.

Forsyth County News quotes a sheriff's office spokesman who said the drugs that were illegally distributed included metformin, phentermine, and phendimetrazine. Every drug except metformin is a controlled substance.

Wysong and Vickers face charges of possession of pre-signed blank prescriptions, practicing medicine without a license, and distributing prescriptions without a license. Hood's charges include violating the Controlled Substances Act and pre-signing blank prescriptions.

Vickers has an $82,500 bond and Wysong's bond has been set at $33,000, the spokesman said.
