Woman Trades Jeep That Was About To Be Repossessed

PEDESTRIAN CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING METHAMPHETAMINE

Feb. 28, an incident report from the indicated that a 20-year-old male was walking along the sidewalk headed toward Hutchinson Point Subdivision when an officer patrolling the area became suspicious because of his clothing, backpack and the time of evening the man was spotted and due to the increase of crime in the area.

The officer approached the man questioned him and noticed his pupils were enlarged and he smelled an odor of marijuana. This gave the officer probable cause to search the young man and his backpack. The search led to finding marijuana, a straw, 140 pills filled with a white powder, an additional bag with white powder, a large amount of empty plastic bags and $270 in cash.

The 20-year-old was charged with Possession of Marijuana Less than an Ounce, Possession/With Intent to Distribute and Methamphetamine Trafficking. Two of which are felony charges.

DINGY STOLEN FROM BALD RIDGE MARINA

Feb. 28, the North Precinct received a call from an individual who kept his boat docked at , stating that someone had taken his Zodiac boat used as a dingy sometime recently. The boat is gray/black and has a bench seat.  Any information please forward to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

WOMAN BLAMES GPS FOR DRIVING DOWN A ONE WAY STREET

Feb. 26, a 33-year-old female was arrested and charged with DUI and Driving the Wrong Way on a One Way Road. Said female stated that her GPS told her to make the turn which she complied and turned onto West Maple going southbound. The officer stated he feared for the driver and others due to a possible head on collision with other drivers, but no one was injured.

SHERIFF TED PAXTONS OBSERVATONS LEAD TO AGGRESSIVE DRIVING CITATION

Feb. 24, officers arrested a 19-year-old male after his car had been put on a lookout for an earlier incident on Feb. 21, when observed the driver of a black BMW driving aggressively on Georgia 400 between Highway 369 and Highway 306. Sheriff Paxton called in for a marked patrol car to assist him, but said male fled, several days later to be pulled over for a window tint violation. 

Sheriff Paxton arrived on the scene to identify said male. The driver was issued a citation and will appear in court soon. 

WOMAN TRADES JEEP THAT WAS ABOUT TO BE REPOSSESSED

Feb. 24, a car dealer on Atlanta Highway met with a 39-year-old female who traded in a 2007 Jeep Liberty for a 2003 Ford Focus. After said female left premises the dealer further investigated the transaction and learned that the Jeep was about to be repossessed by LoanMax. Said female could be charged with Theft by Taking. An investigation is underway.  

LAPTOP STOLEN FROM CHURCH

Feb. 22, while working at a booth during a conference at a report was made for a stolen 15” Apple Mac Book Pro laptop.  The man reported he went to the restroom and upon his return the laptop was missing. If you have any information call the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

U-HAUL RENTAL TRUCK PULLED OVER, WANTED PERSON LOCATED

Feb. 22, an officer pulled over a U-Haul truck after following the vehicle and observing that the vehicle was travelling approximately 15 miles below the speed limit on Georgia 400 and was weaving back and forth.

The U-Haul was searched along with the driver and the passenger. Inside the passenger’s backpack the officer found a zip lock baggie with Cocaine residue, two glass crack pipes, a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue and a marijuana pipe. The passenger gave the officer a driver’s license, which appeared to have a photograph on top of the license.

The officer contacted the person on the license and the man stated that his license had been stolen and that his home, in Cobb County, had been burglarized several weeks ago. Further conversations lead the officer to find out that neighbors had seen the two men and could identify them. The officer determined after hearing the descriptions of the two men that it may be the two individuals he was questioning.

The passenger, a 40-year-old male, was arrested and charged with two felony charges; Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine. He also had two outstanding warrants in Gwinnett County and DeKalb County. Further investigations are underway concerning the burglary.

FIRE

Fire incident calls were up for the week of Feb. 21-28 --a total of 214 calls. The calls consisted of seven structure fires (no injuries were reported), one vehicle fire, 12 brush fires, 134 medical emergencies, seven service calls, 10 false alarms and the rest in various miscellaneous calls. 

Two specific incident calls occurred earlier this week, where the responded to two calls from two different locations concerning two four-year-old twin boys, which were suffering from respiratory problems (.

On Feb. 27, the Forsyth County Fire Department responded to a call concerning a missing male. The 64-year-old man was found drowned in a pond on Gravitt Road ().   

Caption Jason Shivers reported that during the three hour time period of possible bad weather throughout our county, they responded to 12 incident calls that were comprised of five power lines down, one motor vehicle accident, three medical emergencies and three fire alarms.

Caption Shivers also stated that our weather sirens originally sounded off at 4:57 p.m., again at 5:20 p.m. when the tornado warning was extended for our county and then was cancelled at 5:32 p.m.
