Woman Struck, Killed on GA 400 in North Forsyth County

A 49-year-old was struck and killed as she was walking across GA 400 Thursday evening.

A 49-year-old north Forsyth County woman was struck by a pickup truck and killed Thursday evening while trying to cross GA 400 near Settingdown Circle, according to authorities.

Cpl. David Garrison of the said Juanita Cole of Smith Drive in Cumming stepped into the path of a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling southbound around 7 p.m.

Garrison said Cole was in an area that is not well it and was wearing dark clothing while walking from the direction of her home.

"It appears she may have been going to the that is located on the corner of Settingdown Circle and GA 400," said Garrison in a news release.

The driver of the pickup truck, Kim Mills, 50, of Dawsonville, and his passenger were not injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
