Advance Voting Continues in Forsyth County

Forsyth County voters can cast their ballots now through Friday for the Republican Primary Runoff on Aug. 21.

Advance voting for the Tuesday, Aug. 21, Republican Primary Runoff continues through Friday, Aug. 17 at five locations throughout Forsyth County (see below).

On the ballot for Tuesday's runoff election, based on the votes received in the General Primary on July 31 are the following races:

  • District 4 Commissioner, between Cindy Mills and Patrick Bell (incumbent). Mills received 44.16 percent of the votes and Bell took 26.71 percent.
  • Sheriff, between Ted Paxton (incumbent) and Duane Piper. Paxton received 47.64 percent of the votes and Piper took 27.40 percent.
  • U.S. Representative in 113th Congress from the 9th Congressional District between Martha Zoller and Doug Collins. Zoller received 48.56 percent of the vote and Collins took 36.74 percent.

Downtown Cumming:

Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main Street, Voting Hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cumming City Hall, 100 Main Street, Voting Hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

North Forsyth Area:

Hampton Park Library, 5345 Settingdown Road, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

West Forsyth Area:

Midway Park Community Building, 5100 Post Road, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

South Forsyth Area:

Sharon Springs Park Community Building, 1950 Sharon Road, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For all in-person voting, voters should remember to bring one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification:

  • GA driver's license
  • Valid ID card by any state or U.S. with photo
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Valid Government employee photo ID
  • Valid U.S. military ID card with photo
  • Valid tribal ID card with photo

As of Monday, Aug. 13, the reports:

  • Advance Voting Totals - 569
  • Early Voting Totals - 326
  • Absentee Ballots by mail returned - 437

All 25 precincts will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
