Cain to Appear With Gingrich in Cumming on Saturday

The former candidate also will be on the scene at South Forsyth High School.

Herman Cain, the Atlanta-based Republican who ended his presidential bid in December, will appear with Newt Gingrich at his campaign stop Saturday in Cumming.

Cain threw his support behind Gingrich in January.

"They're political soul mates," said Susan Meyers, Gingrich's Southeast Communications Director. "Herman has endorsed Newt and he wants to lend his support as Newt does his first campaign swing through Georgia getting ready for Super Tuesday."

The event will be held in the cafeteria at South Forsyth High School (585 Peachtree Parkway) and is scheduled to begin promptly at 10 a.m. – doors open at 9 a.m. The event will be open to the public.

Gingrich's appearance in his former home state comes as the March 6 primary is nearing, and 10 other states are scheduled to hold primary elections that day. Most major polls show Gingrich running behind Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum (who is scheduled to appear on Sunday at First Redeemer Church at 6:30 p.m.) in the quest to oppose President Obama in November. A New York Times delegate count shows Gingrich in third place.
