Candidate Officially Launches Bid for County Commission Seat

A crowd of supporters were on hand recently for Dennis Brown who is campaigning for a seat on the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners in District 2.

Dennis T. Brown, a retired U.S. Army Col., officially launched his campaign for the District 2 seat on the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners before a crowd of supporters at on Peachtree Parkway on Feb. 29.

American flags and "Dennis Brown for Commissioner" banners decorated the main dining room of the restaurant, according to a news release.

Brown said he was genuinely surprised by the size and enthusiasm of the crowd.

"I knew we'd have a positive and enthusiastic crowd," he said after the event. "But I may have underestimated the size."

During his brief speech Brown talked about being a proponent of term limits but did not mention his opponent, Commissioner Brian Tam.

, is now seeking his third term in office.

Brown, , is a lifetime member of the national Republican Party, a member of the Forsyth County Tea Party, a graduate of Leadership Forsyth and Republican Leadership for Georgia. He will graduate next month from the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute.

He and wife Susan live in Lakeside Farms subdivision in south Forsyth County and both are active members of .
