Chamber Co-Hosts 2011 State of the Community Address

The event will focus on the future plans and past accomplishments of the county, city and school system.

The sixth annual State of the Community Address takes place Thursday at the from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event will feature County Commission Chairman, Brian Tam, City of Cumming Mayor, H. Ford Gravitt () and Forsyth County Board of Education Chair, Tom Cleveland who will report on the accomplishments of the past year and the future plans of the county, city and school system.

"This has really become a hallmark event for our community," said James McCoy, President of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber, in partnership with the Council for Quality Growth, are hosting the event. McCoy expects several hundred community and business leaders to attend.

"It will be just a great opportunity for the leadership, both of the business community and government leadership to hear about the latest and greatest, as well as some of the challenges facing the county," he said.
