Tam Ousted as Commission Chairman
In the first meeting of the new year, Forsyth County Commissioners ousted Brian Tam from his chairmanship by a vote of 3-2 and replaced him with District 5 Commissioner Jim Boff.
For the past year, Forsyth County commissioners have complained, anonymously, about what they describe as Chairman Brian Tam's "bullying" and "heavy-handed" methods in getting his way. Tonight, they did something about it.
At the first meeting of the new year, they voted 3-2, with Tam and District 1 Commissioner Pete Amos opposed, to take away Tam's chairmanship and replace him with District 5 Commissioner Jim Boff.
Before the vote was cast, Tam, said "I had the opportunity to speak with Commissioner Boff this afternoon and wish him well." He then turned to Boff and asked, "Are you ready for this?"
