Forsyth County Celebrates Civic Participation Week

It's a time when residents are encouraged to participate in their community and government.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners have proclaimed this week (Sept. 5-9) as 'Civic Participation Week' in the county.

Reading from the Proclamation, Commission Chairman Brian Tam said, “During this week, American democracy and civic participation will be showcased in honor of the courageous spirit of the American people, and tribute will be paid to those souls lost in the fight for the freedom of the American people."

Civic Participation Week is a time when residents are encouraged to participate in their community and in their government by committing four acts of citizenship:

“Citizens across the county are encouraged to come together to celebrate our country’s democratic system during Civic Participation Week," said Tam.
