Forsyth Earns Budget Presentation Award

Forsyth has earned kudos for its budget presentation.

The county received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2013 budget book. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a significant achievement, according to a press release from the county. 

The county had to satisfy the follow nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation to receive the award:

  • a policy document 
  • a financial plan 
  • an operations guide 
  • a communications device 

“Receipt of this award reflects Forsyth County’s commitment to financial transparency and to making quality financial information accessible to our citizens,” Director of Finance/CFO David Gruen said in the press release. “All of the staff members who worked to put the budget presentation together are certainly to be commended for a job well done.”
