Memorial Service for State Rep. Bobby Franklin

Friends and family are saying goodbye to Georgia state representative Bobby Franklin today.

Friends and family are saying goodbye to Georgia state representative Bobby Franklin at a 11 a.m. memorial service held at Cumming Baptist Church.

Franklin was first elected to the state house in 1996. He was best known for his outspoken conservative views.

A graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Franklin had a degree in both biblical studies and business administration.

He was an active member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. He attended the Chalcedon Presbyterian Church in Cumming and Hope Presbyterian in Northeast Cobb.

Franklin Tuesday. While the medical examiner has not said how he died, police believe there was not foul play.

Franklin had been divorced for some time. He is survived by three adult children and a granddaughter, he was 56.
