Paying Taxes Just Got a Little Easier

New drive-through service at the Forsyth County Tax Commissioner's main office offers residents convenience when paying taxes.

The main office of the Forsyth County Tax Commissioner’s Office now offers residents the convenience of drive-through service.

Two new drive-through windows, located at 1092 Tribble Gap Road, opened for business on Oct. 17 and the response from the community has been positive.

"We thought that we would run one side for awhile, then open up the other side, but we've had enough business to keep both sides open," said Tax Commissioner Matthew Ledbetter.

The windows accept property tax payments, process tag renewals and issue disabled persons parking placards.

“Drive-through service was added as a convenience for our taxpayers,” Ledbetter said. "We expect this to be especially helpful for our elderly residents and those with small children.”

Paying taxes may not be an option, but the drive-through service windows does offer residents the option of doing business at the office without physically getting out of their vehicles.

"We saw a little bit of decrease inside which is a good thing–we were getting a little bit overloaded at times," said Ledbetter.

Residents who prefer to pay their taxes in the south side of the county can do so at the Sharon Springs Park branch office located at 1950 Sharon Road.

Ledbetter added, "We'd like to thank the board of commissioners and citizens for giving us the opportunity to improve our customer service. We owe them a big thank you for giving us the money to do this project."
