Residents Can See New Flood Maps Tonight

Forsyth County residents are invited to learn how updated maps can possibly affect building and flood insurance requirements at an open house tonight, Oct. 24.

Forsyth County residents are invited to see the new preliminary flood hazard maps at an open house tonight, Oct. 24.

The open house will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Commissioners Meeting Room, suite 220, in the Forsyth County Administration Building located at 110 E. Main Street in downtown Cumming.

The maps are part of the county's revised flood risk information. Residents will have an opportunity to learn how the updated maps can possibly affect building and flood insurance requirements.

Representatives from local government, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be
available to provide information and answer questions.

The maps are also currently available for viewing in the Forsyth County Department of Engineering, suite 120, in the Forsyth County Administration Building.
