Second Planning Meeting On County Green Space Properties Tuesday

Residents are encouraged to offer their input during the second open discussion meeting on the master planning of seven green space properties.

The second public information meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. regarding a proposed master plan of several green space properties in the county.

The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department will host the meeting on the master planning of Phase III, the Eagle’s Beak and properties.

“We know there is a great deal of interest among our citizens about the future plans for these green space properties,” said Jerry Kinsey, Director of Parks and Recreation, in a press release. “We welcome and invite all interested residents to attend these meetings and offer their input.”

All of the properties that will be discussed at the planning meetings, except Sawnee Mountain Preserve, were purchased through the $100 million Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond approved by voters in 2008.

“We appreciate the support of the voters, enabling the county to acquire these properties and preserve them for future generations,” said Kinsey.

Tuesday night's meeting will be held at in the Community Building, located at 3560 Settingdown Rd. in Cumming.
