Seniors, Law Enforcement Come Together To Fight Crime
Seniors and Lawmen Together, or S.A.L.T., will hold a meeting on Wednesday with Cumming Mayor H. Ford Gravitt serving as guest speaker.
Forsyth County seniors and law enforcement officials will come together on Wednesday to socialize — and to fight back against victimization.
Seniors and Lawmen Together, or S.A.L.T., will meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the
FOP Sgt. D.P. Land Memorial Lodge at 248 Castleberry Industrial Drive in Cumming.
Cumming Mayor H. Ford Gravitt will be on hand meet with S.A.L.T. members, and seniors are invited to come out and enjoy breakfast and mingle with other residents and local officers and sheriff's deputies.
Founded in 2005, S.A.L.T. is a partnership between the Cumming Police Department, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Forsyth County Senior Services. The group is run by S.A.L.T.'s advisory council, made up of volunteers who organize programming that's geared towards protecting and educating seniors.
