SPLOST VII Advance Voting Ends Today

Forsyth County residents have until today at 5 p.m. to cast their advance vote in the Special Election on Nov. 8.

UPDATE: Nov. 4, 9:47 a.m. (absentee voting totals)

On Tuesday, Nov. 8 many Forsyth County residents will head to the polls to cast their vote in favor for or against , that will be on the ballot in the county's special election.

Some of the items the proceeds of SPLOST VII would fund include, a new jail, courthouse expansion, transportation projects, scheduled replacement of fire engines, animal shelter, expansion and renovation of the Sharon Forks Library, and emergency raw water generator.

Residents can vote in advance through today at the following locations. The hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Hampton Park Library (new location), 5345 Settingdown Road, Cumming
  • (new location), 1950 Sharon Road, Cumming
  • Cumming City Hall (new location), 100 Main Street, Cumming
  • Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main Street, Cumming
  • Midway Park Community Building, 5100 Post Road, Cumming 

The following locations are no longer open for advance voting:

  • Cumming Public Library
  • Forsyth County Public Safety Complex
  • Sharon Forks Library
  • (formerly known as Lakeland Community Church)

Voters also have the option of taking advantage of absentee voting by mail through the close of business on Friday, Nov. 4.

The reports, as of Thursday, Nov. 3, the absentee voting totals are:

  • Advance Voting (in person) - 2132
  • Ballots by Mail Received - 69 (98 ballots were mailed out)
  • Early Voting (in person) - 685

There is no absentee, early or advance voting the Monday (Nov. 7) prior to any election.
