Surplus Auction Event This Weekend

Many items will be up for bid including cars, trucks, buses, electronics, furniture and office equipment.

Forsyth County is holding a surplus auction this weekend, rain or shine, at 843 Canton Highway in Cumming.

A wide variety of items are up for bid including cars, trucks, buses, electronics, furniture and office equipment. All items are sold as is, with no warranties or guarantees.

“The live auction gives local taxpayers and other buyers an opportunity to purchase items such as office equipment or vehicles at very reasonable prices,” said Avery Gravitt, Forsyth County Director of Fleet Services.

If you're interested in participating in the auction a few key factors to keep in mind:

  • A bidder’s number must be obtained in order to participate in the auction.
  • Full payment must be made on the day of the auction.
  • Any items purchased has to be remove from the auction site the day of the event, unless other arrangements are made.

Potential buyers are invited to preview the items today until 4 p.m. and on the day of the auction, Saturday, Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The bidding will begin at 10 a.m. with gates closing at 4 p.m.

Acceptable methods of payment are cash, credit card (a three percent processing fee will apply for credit card purchases), cashier’s check and personal or company check (with a current bank letter of guarantee). Concessions will be available.
